Hardwood Floors Damaged by Storm Flood
Our customer in Monroe, GA encountered flooding in her home from Irma storm, which severely damaged her hardwood floors. When water sits on top of hardwood floors, it can permanently ruin the hardwood as the wood will absorb the water through its pores causing warping and discoloration. Subsequently, the sides of the wood flooring will swell and rise higher than the center of the boards, which will create an uneven surface. As such, our Production Team removed the water and dried the floors as quickly as possible using dehumidifiers. The dehumidifiers ran continuously for 24 hours for three consecutive days. Our Technicians used fans to accelerate the drying processes. Our staff also opened windows and doors that are in close proximity to the affected area to allow excess moisture to evaporate and create more cross ventilation.
