Water Flooded Vision Works Optical in Tucker, GA

Flooding and water emergencies do not wait for regular business hours. SERVPRO® of Panthersville provided emergency water and cleaning services for a commercial optical office in Tucker, GA which was flooded. A frozen pipe in the roof of the building caused the flood, and our Production Team performed the entire mitigation process as follows:

  • Find the source of the flooding—they found the source of the flooding and stopped more water from entering the optical office. Thereafter, they formed a restoration plan based on the level of flooding and damages.
  • Begin the restoration—they began the flood damage restoration immediately after evaluating the damages.
  • Water extraction—they used truck mounted water extraction equipment and dehumidifiers to remove all standing water and moisture from the affected materials, which included flooring, furnishings, and other objects.
  • Carpet restoration—the carpet is especially vulnerable to flood damages, because it absorbs water so easily. The excess water can cause serious damages to the fibers while also increasing the risk of mold growth. Our Technicians pulled up the carpeting and padding to evaluate the damage and restored what can be saved.
  • Cleaning and disinfection—flood water likely contains microorganisms that can be hazardous to one’s health and its presence can lead to mold growth. Once the water was removed, our Production Team used advanced cleaning products to clean and sanitize the areas and materials affected by the flood.
  • Drying process—after the flood water was removed, our Technicians dried the wet materials with advanced drying equipment. They placed air movers and dehumidifiers around the affected areas as well as high technology air scrubbers to remove odors and contaminants from the air. The drying process took five days.
  • Check for mold—many instances of flooding lead to mold growth. Our Production Crew Chief checked for signs of mold, and he offered our customer mold remediation services.
  • Restoration of the damage—after the optical office was completely dried and cleaned, our Production Team inspected the structural damages. Their goal was to restore this optical office “Like it never even happened.”
